Salem Oregon Tree Farm Family Session
This Salem tree farm family session was the perfect kickoff to the holiday season! As a Salem, Oregon family photographer, I was so stoked when I discovered Skyline Christmas Tree Farm! I’ve been to a lot of tree farms since becoming a photographer and this one is by far the best in the Pacific Northwest! It was Christmas trees for days and it was so scenic + beautiful. Photographing this sweet family I got to meet and capture in this great holiday setting made it even better! The nordic pines and rolling hills in the background set up the most joy filled holiday vibe for this family session!
Let’s Talk Clothing
This family came well prepared! How they dressed perfectly complimented the PNW tree farm vibe- neutrals and black +white buffalo plaid perfection! I especially love that they chose a neutral color palette for their session. I’m a big believer that the focus of images should be you, your family + your connection. When choosing clothes for family sessions neutral colors and uncomplicated patterns are best! Also, pro tip, bright and neon colors reflect unflattering color pigments onto your skin! Ever notice how golden fields and white dresses always look so dreamy? It’s because those colors reflect beautifully on the skin! So in this forest of trees, their neutral color palette added an element of calming and beauty to the images. This made them the highlight of the images! Simple is always best.
Gratefulness
Something that I love about being a small wedding + family photographer is all the people I get to meet. I feel so lucky, and this family was no exception. They were kind, fun and so great to get to work with. I could tell how much they valued being able to take family photos and how special it was to them. Family photos are so important and I recognize how special it is to get to document different seasons of life for people. I am so so genuinely grateful.
This Salem tree farm family session left me with major Christmas cheer and makes me want to fully decorate our space for the holidays. Mostly with gorgeous green garland + lights everywhere.
